World Preclinical Congress Europe Highlights:

Event Summary

Dear Members of the WPC Europe Community,

Thank you very much for taking the time to be a part of our Inaugural World Preclinical Congress Europe in Lisbon this November! We were joined by nearly 175 attendees, speakers, exhibitors, and poster presenters, who helped make this inaugural event a success.

The Congress featured 4 conferences and 3 short courses covering some of the most interesting and important topics in preclinical research which included, mastering medicinal chemistry, predicting drug toxicity, use of preclinical tumor models and CRISPR screening. There were numerous panel discussions and breakout sessions, which provided an opportunity for participants to interact and network. Talks given by technology and service companies brought people up to speed on the latest offerings in tools and technologies.

We will be back in Lisbon at the same venue in 2017 from 15-17 November.

Here’s what attendees, speakers and sponsors said about this year’s event:

The conference was very interesting, especially the focus on hepatotoxicity and how to predict it using different approaches/methodologies. This was very inspiring and made me intensify the investigations we do to improve in silico prediction of hepatotoxicity.

Computational Toxicologist

Thanks again for inviting me to participate in an excellent conference. I think the hotel venue was excellent and Lisbon was a great choice. There were lots of good discussions, so the choice of topics and speakers seems to have worked out well.

Drug Safety Consultant

I really enjoyed attending the meeting, listening to some very inspiring talks and meeting interesting people! Furthermore, it was really a pleasure presenting and joining the discussions. I think this is a great initiative and hope that people will start including this as potential future event in their agendas!

Thank you so much for your kind invitation to the nice meeting. I found it extremely valuable and a very nice focused meeting!

Senior Lecturer, University of Liverpool

Thank you very much for organising the conference in Lisbon. The quality of the talks was very high and stimulating.

Head of Analytical and Structural Chemistry

It was an excellent 1.5-day conference and another full day would have been good. It was good and very interesting due to all the case studies, as well as new insights and the quality of talks. Colleagues from other pharma companies were very relaxed and we had a very good exchange about R&D as well as MedChem and its future.

Team Lead, Medicinal Chemistry

I thoroughly enjoyed the conference and thought that the quality of the science and venue were excellent.

Team Leader, Medicinal Chemistry/Oncology

Very challenging, great speakers that complemented each other with different ideas and approaches.
